Rania Yosephine

Lighting Designer

“Without light, even icons fade. With light, architecture comes alive”

Rania holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Architecture from the Bandung Institute of Technology in Indonesia, where she completed a fast-track program. After graduating, she worked as an architect and facade designer in Indonesia before discovering her passion for how lighting shapes ambience and transforms spaces. This realisation led her to pursue a specialised Master’s degree in Lighting Design and Technology at POLI.design by Politecnico di Milano in 2023.

She also gained professional experience working for a year as a lighting designer in a lighting design company, where she was involved in developing creative and technical solutions for various projects.

For Rania, lighting is more than functionality, it is storytelling through atmosphere. She often recalls that without lighting, the Eiffel Tower would simply be a pile of iron. This perspective drives her design philosophy: to use light as a medium to bring architecture to life and create meaningful experiences within spaces.
